Wedding Bands Ordered!

Last Saturday we went to order the ring~ =D

we make a total savings of $700 becoz of 20% discount + $300 voucher

a - groom ring price
b - bride ring price

originally was a + b = $1.9k++

we paid (a x 0.8) + ((b x 0.8) - $300) = $1.2k++

Good buy!! =D

But the weird thing is the groom ring is going to be made in France whereas bride's ring from Switzerland. Kinda weird hor. But well, he say "love across boundaries" (o^_^o)

Looking forward for its arrival in December~~

New House = No Clutter ?

Recently my mum is considering repainting the house before my rom and repainting my room before the actual day wedding. As a result, we discuss and realise that our house have too many furniture and things and it make the painting job not easy at all.

With the new house coming in June 2011, i concluded a few important points to reduce clutter

1. Easier to paint the whole house in one color.
If one color is our only option, the white is probably our choice. Having a small 95sqm house, we do not need any color to make it more cozy.

2. Pre-movement "spring-cleaning" to bring lesser items to start a new life.
I have alot of things in my current house. Approximately 2 rooms worth of treasure. I guess i would need to reduce by throwing away old items to prevent clutter in new house.

3. Storage Organisation have to be pre-planned. "Type A Items in Drawer B in Room C"
Baby seems to have very little to bring over, but i really have alot. Thus, this is impt for me~

I will be starting to think about (since it free time now) on storage organisation in the new house. This will help us identify what are the important pieces of furniture for the new house. Will post it once i'm done =D

No walk-in wardrobe.

Many of you have been asking me this question coz you know i have tons of clothes, shoes, bags & accessories. But a new 4-room flat of today is so small that i cannot cut a spare from the living room to give myself a walk-in wardrobe.

Using one of the room is even worse. We only have 3 rooms. One of the room have to be the study room, One for the future child and one master bedroom. Each room comes with a wardrobe, which is probably the best we can have. Good in the sense that I'll have 3 wardrobe for my barang barang..

The house is expected to TOP in June 2011. We may consider to paint the house by ourselves if we encounter a tight budget. Anyone willing to help out in painting? I'll be discussing about the house organisation with baby and i'll post the details soon. =D

Justice of Peace 決めた!

I'm so happy~~

This morning i email Dr Phua after reading raves about him in singapore brides forum. I emailed him, and he reply by email very fast. After i reply with my contacts, he called and discuss with me the basic things. He is really very friendly on the phone. =D

Some reviews about him:

Review 1:
Hi all, we had our solemnization in end-May and are gratful to have Dr. Phua as our solemnizer. We came to know about Dr. Phua through our wedding planner who highly recommended him for all their clients.

As mentioned by many, Dr. Phua is a very friendly and humourous person. I was nervous about giving him a reminder call before our wedding cos I couldn't find a way which I feel comfortable to put it across. When I finally picked up my courage, he could not be contacted so I left him a message in his office voice mail. Later that day, he returned my call. After I introduced myself, he didn't not wait for me to come to the part I dreaded most, instead he asked, "So, are you prepared for your wedding on XX day at XX time?" Then he procceeded to light chat a bit which made me laugh and I grew to like him even though we haven't met.

Our solemnisation was held during the banquet in the present of all guests and was conducted in both English and Mandarin. I agree with others that Dr. Phua is stronger in Mandarin (but he is effectively bilingual, so no worries). Unlike most solemnisers who follow a formal script, Dr. Phua peppered the whole ceremony with humour and made everybody chuckle. His session is a bit long tho'... it took us about 35 mins. Think ours started a bit late yet Dr. Phua went on unhurriedly after completing all the formalities, giving us advice on how to maintain a good marriage (tho' some guests started to get a little restless as they couldn't wait for the banquet to start :P ).

For us, we did our own vows and Dr. Phua heard it the first time during our ceremony yet he was able to quote parts of the our vows in his speech... he was indeed very attentive. After the ceremony, while still on the stage, hb started to panic as he couldn't find the angbao, Dr Phua said softly to assure him, "No worries, no worries... we'll do this later... It's okay..." (Hb managed to find it in the end ;) ).

A little friendly advice for BTBs to take note...
- Dr. Phua drives, so please prepare a complimentary parking coupon for him.
- His sessions are usually rather long so prepare at least 30 mins for it.
- There is no need to reserve a seat for him for the banquet (if you are having ROM & AD on the same day) as he would tell you he wants to go home to accompany his wife

Review 2:
Just had my solemnization on Saturday, 5th June 2010 and we invited Dr Phua as our solemnizer! I have only good words for Dr Phua for he's really a good solemnizer. Since it was raining yesterday and that might be the reason he arrived on the dot. But upon arrival, he briefly walked through with us what will happen during the solemnization before starting the ceremony.

During the ceremony which was conducted in Mandarin, his speech was made to make us relax and enjoy the ceremony since we were obviously a bit nervous since it was afterall a serious affair. Hehez. Everyone was in laughter and relaxing after listening to his speech and he brought us through the vows and all in a relaxed manner. While wearing the wedding band and signing, he always ensure that the photographer captures all these moments. Not forgetting the "Kiss The Bride" moment! Hehez.

Then both families and us took a photo with him when he presented the cert to us. It was really a pleasant time with Dr Phua and we were glad we invited him.

Review 3:
Had my wedding recently & engaged Dr Phua as my solemniser. I asked him if we needed to meet up, he said it wasn't neccessary. Was very prompt in sending me the consent form the day after I invited him through email.

Nearer the date, I emailed him our personal vows to check & he "ok-ed" them. As it was his lunch hour, we asked if he needed us to pick him up at his workplace, which was very near our venue. He said not needed, he will drive to the hotel. We passed him a carpark coupon & an AB after the ceremony. He spoke in a mixture of English & Mandarin & addressed both us & our guests. He's very thorough & briefed us on the process right before we started. Once he started speaking about marriage & love etc, I started tearing hehehe!

The entire ceremony took longer than expected. Close to 30min, and he stayed on a while to take photos with us & ensure the PG captured certain shots too.

Very pleasant & experienced JP!

He sounds great, doesn't he? I'm looking forward to a great solemnization~ =D

Solemnisation Venue 決めた!

Solemnisation Venue Confirmed!!

It was really a hard decision. Let me tell you the story.

We went in search for the venue since July.

A. Grand Copthorne Water Front OUT
We went with the original intention to view the Ballroom. But since there, we might as well take a look at the Solemnisation Venue. But we know it was not our choice after viewing the room. Moreover, we are looking for a sit-down chinese lunch, and they can only offer buffet.

B. Keppel Club Peony Jade IN
The Solemnisation is by the sea which is really a beautiful venue. Baby & I went before for a Solemnisation Ceremony previously. There was 2 disappointment. My guest couldn't hear what the Justice of Peace(JP) is talking, and there were no seats for my guest during the ceremony. But it is pretty good venue, plus we both love peony jade banquet menu. So we keep it in 1st.

C. Sheraton Towers OUT
We went coz i love the waterfall. It was no doubt it was marvelous. But i feel it was dangerous too. Anyone can fall into the pond. The waterfall was loud, but there will be a PA System, thus it will be good as all my guests can hear my JP loud & clear. The bridge to cross to reach the solemnization venue, seriously speaking, i'm scared. Apart from worrying for my dad or baby's parent, i'm worry that the bride will fall instead. haiz~ Lovely place. But i dun wanna risk my life.

D. Swissotel Merchant Court IN
Freaking lovely!! The Solemnization by the Pool is serious love. I can't help but want the place so badly. It was seriously great. But there is a rental price to the venue. It is not like you have you get that venue for free if you hold the Solemnization there and pay for the food. And the extra charge will be forfeited in the event of rain. Meaning if rain, you solemnization in their rooms and they will not return u the money. God, please bless no rain then.

Conclusion: It was a serious struggle for me. I love the Swissotel Merchant Court ALOTx66666666666666 times. Ask me to forgo it? I'm really sad... But i had to admit it is expensive, especially when the venue may be forfeit. We are on a budget and we will be spending more on AD. Plus, the option of getting Douglas for ROM becoz we love his album is seriously burning a small little hole in our ROM budget. So we decided to settle for 2nd best. Keppel Club is the option

My Inspirations

After my last post, couple of my friends ask why Cantabile Blue, why Tiffany Blue?

I simply just fell in love with this

The idea of a purple wedding was all the while in my mind, till i found this.

Cantabile comes from Nodame Cantabile. Is a show that both Baby & I just love. We can re-watch many times, and we were looking forward to watching the movie this weekend.

Of coz, there are alot more reasons for this Wedding Theme. But if i were to say everything, wun i just spolit the surprise? *wink*

Wedding Theme 決めた!!

カンタービレ ブール
Cantabile Blue.

Yes. That's our theme. Unless we have problem with the hotel. If not, this shall be final.

Cantabile
Wiki >> Cantabile is a musical term meaning literally "singable" or "songlike" (Italian).
Dictionary >> songlike and flowing in style

In another words, we are planning for a songlike wedding. Hehe~~

The shade of blue? Tiffany Blue.

I'm a lover of tiffany blue, and i think it makes the wedding romantic.

Originally i wanted Royal Purple. But for Wedding Lunch, Tiffany Blue seems like a better choice. I love both colors. Either one will be my options.

We will be viewing 2 more hotels next Saturday. And we will finalise the Wedding Venue.

2 things to be completed by July.
1. Confirm AD Venue.
2. Confirm ROM Venue.

楽しみ~

初めまして

my little 1st post in this new blog.

it is quite a tough decision upon whether to split the wedding details into another blog. however, the decision is made. It will be better to move all the little details of the eventful day to another page than to flood into ゆきふみ姫の物語。

The very details things of the wedding in ゆきふみ姫の物語 shall be removed and place here instead.

As for the title... is a 姫 >> 女王 kind of feeling.

I'm looking forward to the whole process. It will actually keep me well company till the day we live in the love nest.
